OTHER CONGRESS ACTIVITIES

Interactive Room

Throughout Day 1 of the Congress there will be some interactive creative activities running for you to drop in and join in with in room 0-02. Organised by Techne students, these will include an alternative collaborative research poster, porcelain clay sculpting, and a chance to help create some online resources for the new Techne Diversity Hub. These activities will be going on throughout the day - feel free to drop into this room at any time to take a look and join in! Click here for more details.

Techne Partners Lunchtime Networking

Come along to chat to representatives of some of our partner organisations over lunch to hear more about their roles and about what placement opportunities they can offer. Look for the 'partners networking' sign in the foyer near the registration desk. Organisations represented are: The Science Museum, The National Archives, Royal Botanic Gardens Kew, and Historic Royal Palaces.

Quiet Space

If you want to take some time out during the conference or need a space to get some work done, room 1-05 upstairs in the Windsor Building is a dedicated quiet room for the duration of the conference. You could also pay a visit to Royal Holloway’s library in next door in the Davison Building which has some comfy study spaces with beautiful views across the campus.

Open Space

If you want to get some fresh air and explore Royal Holloway’s campus, you can find some campus walk maps here. There are beautiful woods, a meadow and an arboretum to enjoy. The campus is also a 15 minute walk from Windsor Great Park and 30 minutes from Virginia Water lake – see www.windsorgreatpark.co.uk.
